Loft Conversion Building Regulations
Building regulations are part of the process for all loft conversions and must be inspected for approval. This can be done by the local authorities Building Control or by independent regulated inspectors. This is becoming a very popular route for construction companies as many have found it difficult to work wit the local authorities.
Three inspections will be required during the construction process and after final inspection has taken place and the work has been passed, a completion certificate will be issued. The completion certificate will be important for the future conveyance of your property when selling.
Building Notice
A ‘building notice’ is required prior to commencing any building regulations construction work. This is done by Abbey Loft Conversions Ltd in all cases and is submitted to the local authority. The minimum period required is 48 hours.
